Our Work
Committed to creating better futures, the Kindeya Foundation offers crucial humanitarian aid to war veterans and their families.
Our Work
Honoring the Sacrifices of War Veterans and Their Families
The Kindeya Foundation is named in honor of Kindeya, a hero who sacrificed his life for Tigray during the 1991 Victory. Our name, which means "like a father" in Tigrigna, reflects our commitment to honoring the bravery of heroes like him and supporting the families and communities they left behind.
Our work is centered on remembering and memorializing the lives of those forgotten because of the war in Tigray. We believe that every person deserves to live with safety and dignity, and that no life should go forgotten. Our mission is to give these individuals the recognition they deserve, ensuring their stories are heard and their contributions are recognized by all Tegaru.
We actively work to promote peace and reconciliation and to advocate for the rights of war victims. Through events like remembrance ceremonies and educational seminars, we spread our message and inspire people to remember every life lost in the war on Tigray.
In addition to our advocacy, we conduct extensive research into war-related topics to uncover more about the lives of both those lost and those affected by the wars. This research includes gathering the stories of war survivors, veterans, and their families, shedding light on the full impact of the conflict on their communities.
Our projects are designed to provide tangible support. We have initiated projects to assist war veterans who have lost limbs, providing them with resources and assistance to navigate their recovery. Our goal is to empower them to embrace their new lives and find strength in their resilience. We believe that a soldier's courage lies not only in their physical ability but in their will to overcome any obstacle.
We are also committed to providing humanitarian aid to war veterans and their families. Our fundraising efforts have enabled us to provide crucial support, including financial aid for holiday celebrations for the TDF (Tigray Defense Force), as well as nutritional food. We are currently using remaining funds to provide essential services, like haircuts and salon services, for veterans.
We believe in the power of stories—not only of the pain and loss but also of the selflessness, compassion, and resilience that emerge from conflict. It is our obligation to preserve their legacy as a source of inspiration for all of us. By joining our cause, you can help us continue this vital work.
